{"id":2855,"date":"2020-03-13T19:07:07","date_gmt":"2020-03-13T13:37:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/luxuryampersandfrolics.com\/?p=2855"},"modified":"2022-10-29T16:27:29","modified_gmt":"2022-10-29T16:27:29","slug":"alec-bradley-formally-announce-kintsugi","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indiacigarclub.com\/journal\/index.php\/2020\/03\/13\/alec-bradley-formally-announce-kintsugi\/","title":{"rendered":"Alec &#038; Bradley Formally Announce Kintsugi"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Alec &amp; Bradley Cigars have now formally announced their third core-line cigar as Kintsugi.<\/p>\n<p>The cigar draws from the Japanese art of the same name, where broken pottery is repaired using lacquer mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum\u2014effectively highlighting an item\u2019s journey and history, rather than concealing such \u201cimperfections.\u201d<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\">\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">Unfortunately, the cigar industry seems to be a bit fractured right now. We are all fighting to reduce or eliminate regulation, but there is little consensus on how to achieve this. We can all learn from the Kintsugi story. We are all better together. The passion behind premium cigars is the gold lacquer that binds.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">&#8211; <span class=\"su-quote-cite\">Bradley Rubin, co-founder of Alec &amp; Bradley Cigars<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>Alec &amp; Bradley Kintsugi is being rolled at the Ra\u00edces Cubanas factory in Honduras, the same factory used for the duo\u2019s freshman\u00a0Blind Faith cigar\u00a0and the limited-edition\u00a0Uru Doshi collaboration\u00a0with\u00a0<em>Cigar Dojo<\/em>. The cigar makes use of a Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan and Honduran binder and fillers. Expected to hit retail at some point between mid-May and early June, Kintsugi will be packaged in 20-count boxes, with packaging made to mimic the filled-in crack pattern of traditional Japanese Kintsugi pottery and artwork.<\/p>\n<div class=\"su-quote su-quote-style-default su-quote-has-cite\">\n<blockquote>\n<div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">We are honoring Kintsugi through our artform, cigar making. Bradley and I hope that if we spread the story and spirit through our cigars- colleagues and enthusiasts may one day embrace the tradition and come together for a common cause.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"su-quote-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim\">&#8211; <span class=\"su-quote-cite\">Alec Rubin, co-founder of Alec &amp; Bradley Cigars<\/span><\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<p>Alec &amp; Bradley Kintsugi will be distributed by parent company, Alec Bradley Cigar Co. The cigars will ship in four sizes: Robusto (5\u2033 x 50), Toro (6\u2033 x 52), Gordo (6\u2033 x 60), and a size to be disclosed at a later date.
