This week the Meerapfel family has announced it is re-introducing its own cigar band.The Meerapfel family is best known for being tobacco brokers and in particular are known for brokering tobacco out of Cameroon, Africa. In addition, the Meerapfels work with Arturo Fuente Cigar Company on its international distribution outside of the U.S. While the Meerapfels have over 150 years of experience in the tobacco business, way back in the mid-1800s, the Meerapfels had their own cigar brand being distributed.“It took 150 years to get around to it, I hope it will bring joy to many people”, stated Jeremiah Meerapfel, President of the Meerapfel Companies in a press release. “The cigars will pay tribute to each generation of my family, to the finest tobacco, blends and to tradition.”In announcing the new Meerapfel Cigar band, Meerapfel also announced the appointment of Reinhard Pohorec as Vice President of Sales and Brand Experience. Based in Austria, Pohorec is an entrepreneur and has established an excellent reputation over the last decade in experience design with luxury brands and in five-star hospitality.
