El Sueno Cigars Celebrates 16th Anniversary

El Sueño Cigars (“the dream” in Spanish) was established in 2005 by Mirko Giotto. Coming from a background of watchmaking, a great aesthete and collector at heart, Mirko has always safeguarded the image and recognition of his brand.

At the Cigar Smoking World Championship (CSWC) in 2016, Mirko Giotto won the title of World Cigar Champion in Split. To date, he is the first and only Swiss winner of this competition.

Since then, El Sueño has not stopped growing in Switzerland and in the rest of Europe, but also in Russia, China, Africa, in the United States and, more recently, in the Middle East and India.

The El Sueño brand offers premium-quality Dominican cigars. With a Classic Line comprising 7 vitolas, including the highly prized Dos Horas Double Corona. The leaves used in the blend of El Sueño’s Classic Line grow in the rich and generous soil of Santo Domingo. In 2013, Mirko Giotto created a new range of cigars to satisfy a more demanding clientele – the Grand Reserva. The 5.60 is an opulent Toro Corto, the 6.60 is 6 inches long with a 60 ring gauge.

In 2018, Mirko and Claudia Giotto created cigars especially for women. The packaging of this new line for ladies is feminine. The G-Line offers two vitolas: The Mademoiselle is a slender and very mild cigar with a Connecticut wrapper. Madame is a short Panatela with a tobacco blend from the Dominican Republic and a Habana 2000 wrapper.

In 2018, they decided to produce a liqueur, a limited edition of 200 bottles called Larmes de Cigares. In view of the great success of this first edition, a rum was launched in a limited edition of 500 bottles under the same label. For 2022, El Sueño plans to introduce a Rum XO, which is aged for seven years in oak casks.

In 2020, Claudia Giotto decided to create the El Sueño Accessories line. This collection of pochette bags, scarves, foulards, scented candles, and key rings, etc. is designed to appeal to both men and women.

In 2020, a Nicaraguan Toro Box Press was introduced. Rated 91 points, this cigar is presented in boxes of 15.

“I fulfilled my dream and my passion by creating my brand of cigars 16 years ago”, says Mirko Giotto, founder and CEO.
